Wedding on The Grand Hotel Porch

Beautiful porch Wedding at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan in Northern Michigan.  Abbie and Gary were fabulous, beautiful, and perfect!  The day started out with heavy overcast and opened wide up for a bright sunny afternoon and evening.  The Wedding took place on the Porch of The Grand Hotel on the West end.  A large section of the Porch was reserved for the Wedding and the drinks and orderves to follow.  People were sitting on The Grand Hotel Porch watching the Wedding take place from a distance.

The Wedding began with a processional down the entire length of the Porch with the bagpiper Gregor MacGregor.  It was a fantastic show for everyone involved.  It brought tears to the eyes of the family as the bride followed behind in her beautiful white Wedding dress.  My hair on my arms stood up too.:-)

Kelly and her crew from Margaret’s Garden did just a perfect job on the flowers for the day.  Since this was an intimate Wedding the bride and groom had flowers for everyone attending.  Margaret’s Garden also did the centerpieces for the Pioneer Room dinner.  All of the flowers were fresh and they smelled wonderful!

Hair and makeup was perfectly done by Astor’s in The Grand Hotel.

The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island is just a perfect location for your Wedding.  There are plenty of Wedding locations on the premise for you to choose from.  They can accommodate both large and small Weddings.  This particular Grand Hotel Porch Wedding had a total of 14 people.  They had the Pontiac Room for a small dinner in the evening.  My time with them was from before the Wedding until the middle of the horse carriage ride around Mackinac Island.  You can contact The Grand Hotel at the number and website below.

The Mackinac Island Destination Dream Wedding Weekend hosted by the Mackinac Island Visitor Bureau is a fantastic way to see the beautiful Island in Northern Michigan and get ideas for your Wedding on Mackinac Island, Michigan.

The weekend is balanced out to allow you to visit locations around Mackinac Island and meet some of the Vendors available for your Wedding on the Island.    As a member of the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau, vendors are allowed to set up space in island locations to visit with the incoming brides and grooms on Saturday.

Yesterday I attended the Mackinac Island Visitor Bureau Media meeting at the Lilac Tree on Mackinac Island, Michigan.  Wow, online content and Web 2.0 is moving at a shocking rate.  What I thought that I had figured out is now changing.  I met some more of the Mackinac Island Business owners and that was cool too.

The weather was to die for too.  I couldn’t believe that I was watching the flag on The Grand Hotel lying against the pole, no wind.  There is always some type of beautiful breeze on the island.

On the way off of the island I picked a few things up at Mackinac Outfitters which is running a storewide 40% off sale.

Last week I had two shoots on Mackinac Island.  The first was an Anniversary shoot where the couple wore their Wedding clothes and we traveled from Mission Point Resort around Mackinac Island and back to the Resort to finish up images, and the second shoot was a outdoor Wedding on Mackinac Island at Hotel Iroquois on the Beach.  Both shoots were awesome weather and we had a grand time working on the island.
