Mackinac Island, Michigan is a fabulous location to be Married! There are no cars allowed on the island so walking, biking, and horse drawn carriage are the means of transportation. Life is slow paced and the island is beautiful! I work at all of the Mackinac Island Locations doing Weddings, Family Images, Pet Photography, Children, Senior Images, and more. Last week I had two shoots on Mackinac Island. The first was an Anniversary shoot where the couple wore their Wedding clothes and we traveled from Mission Point Resort around Mackinac Island and back to the Resort to finish up images, and the second shoot was a outdoor Wedding on Mackinac Island at Hotel Iroquois on the Beach. Both shoots were awesome weather and we had a grand time working on the island.

Mackinac Island hosts a couple golf courses for the bachelor party on the island. There are lots of restaurants, bars, snack shops, and don’t forget the world class fudge shops too! Bike the island on a smooth paved road around the edge or take off on the trails to see the natural part of Mackinac Island. There is also a small landing strip to fly right in to the island. Ferry boats arrive from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace are regular schedules all throughout the day.

The island life is relaxed. You will feel the stress level fall immediately and you will find that people on Mackinac Island are very friendly and accommodating. Feel free to stop by the Mackinac Island Visitor Bureau or Chamber of Commerce on Mackinac Island. It is a couple blocks from the ferry dock and they are VERY helpful in recommending activites, places to eat, and just welcoming you to the island.
