Ashley and Dan traveled all the way from St. Louis, MO to find their dream destination Wedding location on Mackinac Island, Michigan at the Inn at Stonecliffe.  It was an intimate Wedding with 25 family and friends on the lawn at The Inn at Stoncliffe.  The Wedding reception took place on the patio overlooking the Straits of Mackinaw and the Mackinac Bridge.

Ashley wore an Allure Wedding gown and her Mackinac Island Wedding flowers were completed by St. Ignace Greenhouse in St. Ignace, Michigan. Wedding hair on Mackinac Island by 7th heaven salon.

The Wedding was officiated by Reverand Edwin Remaly.

The bride and groom released monarch butterflies on Mackinac Island from Joyful Butterflies.

And then they were Married

Ashley and Dan’s Wedding theme was vintage, elegance, and classic.  Their Wedding colors were silver, pink, and ivory.

Dancing at the Grand Hotel in the evening hours.  We left The Inn at Stonecliffe at 9:30pm and spent the evening dancing at The Grand Hotel.

Friday I was blessed again to spend the afternoon on Mackinac Island, Michigan for a Wedding at The Inn at Stonecliffe.  Amy and Charlie are two cool cats!  We had a great time together.   Amy is an absolute beauty, and Charlie is a handsome lad as well.

When I arrived to the Wedding the clouds were thick and the overcast and it looked like rain.  But, oh no, my friend, the clouds cleared and Amy and Charlie’s beautiful smile beamed during the day.

The couple is from Chicago, Illinois and planned this beautiful destination wedding on Mackinac Island, Michigan.  Amy had an idea in her head what she wanted on her Wedding day and her matron of honor, Tara, from Invitations by Design, helped her dream come true.   Tara’s designs and over-the-top details added that special touch to Amy and Charlie’s Wedding day.  You can see a bunch of the products that Tara produced in the slideshows below.  Anything on paper Tara did and will do for you too.  Call her and let her design your invitations, programs, signs, speech cards, seating chart, menus, thank yous, or anything you can imagine.

The bride wore a beautiful Oleg Cassini Wedding gown.

The Wedding theme for the day was Mackinac Island and bicycles.  They had bicycles on their Wedding cake and lots of bicycles on the signs and details.  The Wedding cake was designed by Bella e Dolce and was stunning.

The Reverand Brian Tuttle was the officiant for the ceremony.

The beautiful flowers were by St. Ignace Greenhouse.  They had beautiful flower bouquets and boutinerres.

The 2010 Mackinac Island Wedding season is about to begin.  The weather has been everything but normal this year.  Last year the snowmobiles were still running today and now there isn’t but a hint of snow on the ground.  We have already seen 80+ degree temps that have broken records too.  Who knows what the weather will be like this year.  Hopefully it will be just a bit warmer than last summer on the island though.

Paul Retherford Wedding Photography (Me) is still available for Wedding Photography commisions on Mackinac Island.  I have a handful of Weddings booked this year on Mackinaw Island and I will be happy to book some more Photography sessions and Weddings.  I capture Weddings, trash the dress, fash the dress, family, pet, engagement, senior, lifestyle and whatever else you can think up.  I have had everything from simple headshots all the way to a large Wedding on Mackinac Island, Michigan.

Mackinac Island is a destination location in Northern Michigan that is a motor-free island.  The common modes of transportation are feet, bike, and carriage.   The island has a beautiful downtown with a mix of boutique and trendy shops with lots of food and fudge.  Bring the entire family and enjoy a vacation.  Do a hike around the island, rent a horse and carriage, bike the 10-mile island loop, check out the arch rock, see beautiful landscapes gardens and houses, relax on the lawn by the lake, bring  your dog, fly a kite, shop, or just people watch and make new friends.

How about your high school senior pictures on a cool island like Mackinac Island?  The images are truly spectacular and the opportunities for images are spectacular.  Everything from water to nature to architecture to horses…cool stuff!

The fash the dress/trash the dress sessions on Mackinac Island, Michigan are really awesome!  Hire a horse carriage to travel around the island and I will lead and follow you on my bike and capture fabulous images in and out of the carriage.  I create images that tell your story of the trip around the island and the love and emotion between the two of you.  The images that I create will be cherished forever, my testimonials will prove that!  The sessions are going to be the highlight of your Mackinac Island Trip!
